Lavinuisce hand & body wash

Description

Lavinuisce is a liquid soap containing coconut oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, and lemon verbena essential oil. It is preservative-free and contains no colourants or fixatives.

Lavinuisce is handmade in small batches. The process of saponification involves:

1. Mixing oil and lye solutions
2. Blending the new solution to trace
3. Cooking the solution in a slow cooker for up to four hours until the correct pH is achieved
4. Decanting the jelly-like solution into a saucepan
5. Adding water
6. Bringing the solution to the boil and letting it simmer for an hour to ensure complete blending
7. Mixing in essential oil
8. Pouring the soap into glass separating funnels to allow the super-fatted portion to rise to the top
9. Decanting the pure, un-super-fatted soap into containers; and
10. Pouring the soap into glass bottles and / or 5l containers.

The process is time-consuming, but makes for an extremely pleasing liquid soap that is smooth on the hands and body and exudes a wonderful natural scent. No large-scale commercially manufactured soap can compare.
